Ward Missionaries and Porcupines

Tu´ux ka bin!! thats mayan for whats going on! and hach wi´iheen, that means that i am hungry! i learned that word pretty quick! jaja.
well this week has been a really fun and busy week! as you know it was new years, and apparently a new years tradition down here is that they like to make a person with pants and shirt, shoes head, etc and stuff it with fireworks and fire crackers, and some of them they put their president of Mexico's face on it because they ´love´ him soo much! jaja. but at midnight they light them! i can just tell in 2 years I'm coming back so i can stay past curfew at midnight and watch one go off!! lol. for new years eve us and our whole district and some elders from another district went to a member family's house named the carillo mays, they are such an amazing family that i love! and we ate a ton of tacos, tamales and cake! it was soo good. this week i also went on exchanges and went with another elder in our district named elder garcia. he if from the Dominican republic! earlier in the week we went to a family's house that we are teaching named the poot briceno´s and when we were there i had the opportunity to pick up a porcupine!! their family thought i was crazy by doing so but knowing me, i had to! as i was holding it, there dog came up to me. and if any of you know when porcupines are frightened their spike come out, and i was not about to be poked and i was trying to get the dog away at the same time of holding the porcupine and the dog barked and i can now say on my mission was the first time i was pricked by a porcupine! jajaja. but it was soo worth it! it hurt but i would do it again because they are soo cool! there are a lot of people who cant read here in tekax which means they cant really read the book of Mormon, but we slowly help them come to the understanding of the church and we read with them. its harder but its working. also a message out to everyone! help your ward missionaries as much as possible, find friends that they can teach and go to those lessons with them, because it is sooo helpful for an investigator to be referenced by a friend and that they have a friend as they accept the lessons from the missionaries! you may not realize it but trust me, members are the key to success in missionaries! so please ask your missionaries if there is anything you can do to help them and if you could go to lessons with them, and when they do come to church make sure they feel welcomed because that is a big change in their life to adapt to! because us Mormons, just like a different lifestyle, we have different vocabulary and just just think of all the inside Mormon jokes that only Mormons get. but point if just help your missionaries! well remember i love you all and keep doing you best at everything you do....except bad stuff...!!
NOS VEMOS BUENAAA!!
Lots of love!!
Elder Wasden
