"Nothing is better than being a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints"

im just going to come out and say it, nothing is harder than being a missionary of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. but at the same time, nothing is better than being a missionary of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. its hard to see that your plan doesnt always match up with His plan, but we always need to learn to trust in the lord in all that he does, and things will always work out. but this week has been such an amazing week like always. i did divisions with elder rongel, one of the zone leaders in my area and we worked in my area the whole day. we visited this member and we found out his neighbors are members too but havent gone to church in like 20 years when they lived in tabasco, mexico. but we became very great friends with them and we found out he makes songs and he showed us some of his songs that he makes on the guitar. later in the day, we were walking to our next appt and i looked down this street and i saw a lady carrying her groceries so turned away from my comp to go and help her and we walked her all they way to her house and we met her whole family and they all had an excitement to greet us, we felt so welcomed. we ended up singing and saying a prayer and taught them a little bit of what we do. we also figured out her husband got in contact with some missionaries we know in the past from another area when he was at a members house but, he has a book of mormon and has been reading it. but he is now one of our new investigators. their family is awesome and invited us over to eat panuchos with their family, and for some of you who dont know what panuchos are, they are the best food ever in this area! wednesday when my comp and i were almost home, i had a craving for this drink called Reca horchata in which i am now addicted to, because there is no pasolie con coco here, but as we were walking to they store close by our house, we passed this guy and he talked to us and asked us what we do, so we were more than delighted to tell him all about it. we ended us meeting his whole family there too, and his daughter karen and her son carlos and i got to talk a little english with him because he is learning it in the school. but we got to come back friday to teach them. and they are our new friends who played basketball with us in the mornings sometimes! haha. thursday morning we woke up to no water, and we use water for everything. for those who know me, i dont like problems, and i start going into a desperate mode trying to look for a solution to solve them, so the whole time when my companion was calling the landlord to try to solve the problem, i climbed up on the roof and followed the water line up to this pump and then a tank, so i climbed in the tank and it was empty, so i messed with a couple of things in there, and water started flowing out, i did get soaking wet but i then climb back down very carefully and walked inside and my comp sees me soaking wet and asks me "what happened to you" but in spanish and all i said was "go check the sink" and i just stood there like a "boss" with a smirk on my face watching him see that the water works and telling the landlord nevermind. but i saved us like 200 pesos we were so happy. haha. also this friday as district leader, i had the chance to interview an investigator for baptism from the sister missionaries area in my district. but this interview with her one on one was so amazing and so spiritual, i loved it soo much. i was getting eaten alive by mosquitos but it was amazing to just see this change in her life for the better and also when i asked her to share her testimony with me of how she came to have this testimony of the church. it was a really great experience that i will never forget. this work i love doing every day. there are so many things that you get to see. nobody said that it would ever be easy because it is hard work. but this work will bless you for the rest of your life and you learn new things all the time that will help you in your life. there are many people that depend on you and its your job to help them, and deliver the message from heavenly father directly to them. we are his messengers in this work and He needs us and we need Him. it is a great blessing to be a missionary for the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. i love this work and i love this gospel and i wouldnt change any moments of the things i have done in this work. because things happen in which the way the lord wants them to happen. all we just have to do, is listen, trust in the lord... and act! i know our heavenly father loves each and everyone of us and his plan for each and every one of us is perfect!
well its about time i close for now but i will send pics. just remember that i love all you guys and keep listening for the spirit in your lives.
CON MUCHO AMOR,
ELDER WASDEN

Short But Sweet

Well I don't have very much time but I will send some pics though. this week happened to be an amazing week! one of the things I forgot I could do as DL is that I do divisions with all the companionship's in my district. so I got to go with Elder Tousa to Pueblo Nuevo, my last area and work with him there in all of those pueblos or villages and I got to see all the members there. it was awesome! we had our English classes Friday like every week and we taught everyone how to pray in English! it was soo awesome, and all of them had a chance to pray. I'm just going to tell you now, I cannot pray in English anymore I sound like a kid trying to find big words to say and ends up not making sense. this Saturday, we also had another baptism, which I didn't have my camera to take a picture. but her name was Angie and she is a teenager who is awesome, her family got baptized a couple weeks ago but she finally over came her fear and went through with it, and it was so amazing. this week we finally moved into our new house and it was very stressful. but we finally got everything in and the house is soo huge and awesome! sorry I don't have much to say this week but I gots to go back to work! gotta love the mission life! I love you all and have a fabuloso fantastica week! filled with lots of joy and love. because what is love, I'll tell ya, love is a burning thing da da da da da da da daa! okay gotta go! nos vemos!

Teaching with Paradise's Elder Parrott and a little "Soccer Happy"

woah mom! how come you don't have my beautiful picture on the missionary countdown calendar! its all good i forgive you, this week was such a great week like i always say and boy do i love campeche where the dog bark every minute of the day and night, but i cant help but just say how much i love being a missionary and just everything about it from spiritual experiences to just small funny stuff that that happens and things we see. but Monday we went shopping and i bought this big thing of eggs, we then took a bus back to the house and this buss ride was like the longest bus ride because my eggs broke and kept dripping in the bus as i stood up front next to the bus driver and held them over the steps so they would drip out the door. but as they were dripping i apologized and told him that i wanted to invite him for breakfast but i didnt have any eggs left. he thought that was funny, but this week i ended up fasting! jaja. Tuesday when we were looking for a members house we contacted and met this woman who happened to be a less active who moved here 20 years ago from Mexico (Mexico city). after we found the house, and this member we taught had a dog as big as my horse that i don't have. but as i entered the dog come sprinting at me while I'm praying to god to at least let me finish my mission, but turned out to be really nice. its a great Dane dog. and she loved me, i also got to ride it, okay i didn't get to but i wanted too soo bad! also Wednesday, we ate at this members house and lets just say i got to know what a chicken foot tastes like. it actually wasn't that bad. Thursday after coming back from lunch, we passed by the park by the church and started talking to this guy who was just sitting down alone but we found out he is an alcoholic, and he just wanted to change his life around and be the father his family needs, we taught then sat right there and had a mini lesson with him and sang and said a little prayer, and we took down his information and passed it to the other missionaries in the other area. following we had a meeting in the church and after when we took the bus home i look back at my companion in the bus and he does the cheesiest smile while showing me an onion in which i have no clue where he found an onion. boy do i love my companion and his randomness. Friday we ate with this family and in the family are 2 young men and with them we have this joking relationship. but i was curious when they asked me Sunday what was my least favorite food was Sunday, and i said soup and so this Friday we literally ate 3 different kinds of soups for lunch. oh how i love their sense of humor! :I jajaja, gotta love those guys. Friday at the end of the day, elder tousa and i taught our English classes in the church, its actually really fun! Saturday we had this awesome investigator who we contacted 2 weeks ago and he is so awesome his names victor and he was in a tragic accident a couple years ago and he told us there was a reason why god let him live but he didn't know what it was and he was just waiting for it. but whenever we teach him he feels something that he never felt before and everything started making sense to him. he is awesome! yesterday we had church, and elder parrott (parrotts from paradise) and i taught the youth ages 16-17. and the topic we taught was dating, so that was pretty fun, and boy did a lot of questions come up in that lesson regarding us. then our fun energetic bishop came in to ask us something and ended up sharing a couple stories from his youth. boy do i love our bishop he has a big sense of humor and is really spiritual too. after church we ate at a members house us 4 missionaries and my comp couldn't finish his dessert because he was soo full, and we all encouraged him on, but then i shared a spiritual thought on enduring to the end, and related it to eating a dessert. guess who finished their dessert! :P on our way back home that night, we passed the two old ladies who we sitting on these steps and as we kept climbing these 100 billion stairs straight up this tall steep hill, they stopped us and ask who we were and so we then started the convo and turned out her husband passed away about a year ago, so we then showed his the video Because of Him   (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_S3TI4bYerU)   but in Spanish. and helped her understand that she could see her husband again. during this time a neighbor named maricela and her 9 year old daughter karen came and listened too. well after we finished that little lesson, it started pouring outside out of nowhere and thunder out of nowhere so we all went inside to wait the rain and ended up teaching about the book of Mormon, and after she told us that letting us teach her was one of the best decisions she made in a long time and she said we were different then all the other religious people that come by. that made me smile. when we went home we got a little lost but we eventually made it home. today was our pday and was the fist time in a long time that we were allowed to play soccer again in the mission, so the first thing we did was all play soccer, so i am soo ready to be pro when i get back. we played latinos against the greengos (americanos), I'm not even going to tell you who won because like i always say, I'm humble... okay we lost, but only by 9-10, okay sorry I'm just a little soccer happy. but that was pretty much my week. solo quiero decirles que amo este iglesia con todo mi corazon y es un bendicion estar aqui, se que la iglesia es verdadera.ELDER WASDEN

District Leader

Whats going on fam! boy i know i have the same frase every week but its true, but what a great week! this week we have been searching for a house all week. we finally found it and I'm pretty sure ill have pictures of us in it soon when we move in it! i love being district leader because i literally have the best district here in campeche. well this week, we also went to the house of the family hurtado which were the family in the photos last week, but we had a family home evening with them, after i brought my buzzers so we could cut nelsons hair, in which we did. half way, his mom took the buzzers and put on the smallest size and just totally cut all of his hair off in one spot on accident, his reaction was the best, and so we had to shave the rest off, but  cleaned my hands because that was not me, jaja. this week we also visited some members that live in our area. we went to the familys house called the family chickerdenza. they are such a funny energetic family. Friday, elder tousa and i also taught English classes to some of the people of Mexico. us old companions as teachers, was the best. we also have this awesome hermano in the ward who is a returned missionary who spoils us. he took us to his house and we had a little pizza party on the roof. little cesars and i finally had a drink of Dr. Pepper after a long time. i have know clue where he found it, but he has connections and i love him! jaja. Saturday night, there was an activity in the ward for the youth and also a family history training demo. and so we helped with the family history and us 4 elders went outside and played soccer against the jovenes. I'm not going to tell you who one because I'm humble... okay we lost, but we beat them at basketball! jaja. Sundays, after church, we had a big family home evening at a recent conversos house and we showed the movie of lehi and the tree of life, it was a great experience for everyone. when we were getting ready to leave, an hermana came up to us and asked us to come to her house and give her son a blessing, and so we did. we go where ever our priesthood duty calls. and here the rain is starting to come, right now its the point where it just rains a lot in a little bit of time and for the rest of the day its blazing hot. like it pours down rain in the morning as we are walking and like 10 mins later it stops and the whole day we are walking soaking wet, i like it and think its fun but my comp doesn't like it too much. haha. sorry i don't really have much to say this week, but i hope all is going well back at home. cuidase and talk to ya next week.
